Bambito Coffee Valley Ride

From the café we ride into the Bambito valley, a green corridor that climbs gently from Volcán toward Cerro Punta. The road follows the river, hemmed in by steep forested walls, and the air gets cooler and cleaner with every kilometer.

Along the way we pass the trout farms Bambito is known for — cold, fast highland water is perfect for them — and the first coffee plantations climbing the hillsides. The 320 meters of climbing come gradually, never in one brutal wall.

Halfway through the ride we stop at a working coffee farm in the valley. You'll see how highland arabica grows in the shade, how the cherries are picked and processed, and why this corner of Chiriquí produces some of the best coffee in the world.

The visit ends the right way: a tasting of freshly brewed farm coffee, included in your tour.

A great step up from our easy rides. If you ride a bike now and then and don't mind a steady, gradual climb, you'll enjoy this one. Three hours door to door with generous stops, then coffee back at the café.
